What is Tallow?
Tallow is rendered beef suet. We only use the incredibly nutrient dense suet fat from around the kidneys of the animal.
Does it go bad?
All of our product has a shelf life of 12 months. This can be extended to 18 months when refrigerated or indefinitely when frozen, so feel free to stock up!
Why is my Tallow so hard?
Tallow is Temperature sensitive. To make it softer and easier to apply, keep it stored in a warm location. Rubbing between your palms before application will also help.
How do you use Tallow?
Tallow is a moisturizer that can be used from head to toe and is safe for use on all skin types. It can be used as an intense moisturizer for dry cracked skin, or a gentle daily moisture for your face and body.
Will Tallow clog my pores?
No, Tallow will not clog your pores. The biological make up of beef suet is nearly identical to the protective layer found naturally in our skin (sebum), so when you apply Tallow to your skin, it is only adding back what you have lost.
My Tallow has a grainy texture, is it still good?
Like many natural products, (think honey or coconut oil), Tallow can sometimes get a lumpy or grainy texture. Usually due to temperature fluctuation. Have no fear! It has not gone bad!!
